If you or someone you know has a nice backyard, that may be all you need to hold your ceremony. Have your reception the same place–simple cake and punch will be the least expensive. You do not owe your guests a meal, but please be considerate enough to not schedule your wedding/reception during a meal time. As far as your dress, look on clearance racks–my sister bought her wedding dress off a clearance rack at a department store for $30 (US). It was ivory with a chiffon overlay that had gold glittery sparkles on it–and she had a lovely garden wedding and it was perfect.

You can do a lot of it yourself with items bought from a craft store like AC Moore. They have at least two aisles full of wedding stuff and things are always going on clearance. Do you have a store like that near you? I heard of someone getting certain things from dollar stores like place settings and crystal candlesticks. You just have to know where to look. Good luck.

unfortunately 1100 might not be enough for a reservation function 1100/30 is about $37 per head might be less for kids. Firstly Call up your local function centres and ask them how much it is per head since at times it is chaper since they do all the flowers chairs food etc and less worry and headaches
Other than that have you thought about a home wedding as parks have to be hired and food need to be bought kids can have some sort of activity it’s sort of like arranging a big kids birthday party with parents.

yeah, you both could have wedding at the beach or park, peharp your backyard?
you dont need to spurge on lots of money for foods, i went a wedding recently, it was a cockital wedding which is just drinks and few nibbles..
they claimed that it s cheaper than foods meals..
i noticed that half of guest is children, maybe you can have non alcholic cocktails for them?
if they are too young, they should be fine with soft drinks or some juices.
good luck for your special day!

i live in melbourne, so im not really sure where you can get married, but i thought id answer because u mentiond half the guests are children. i had about 20 children at my wedding and i remeber goign to weddings as a kid and they were booooring. So i set aside a part of the reception hall and brought in a little tv and DVD player and had that running, the reception provided me another tv so i brought the Xbox as well, i had them coming up to me going this is the best wedding ever!… kept them occupied so they wernt bugging parents, running around all over the place and gave them something to do, so i know i didn’t really answer your question but i thought i’d share what i did

My brother & sister-in-law had a low key wedding that was the best I’ve been to! they hired a function room in a nice pub that had a bar - guests won’t be offended if they know you don’t have much and they pay for their own drinks. Being really hot they stated strictly casual dress - the bride bought a lovely designer dress and my bro just wore a nice open collored shirt and being 40degrees there was more than a few of us wearing sarongs!
The wedding cake was a stack of yummy nicely iced chocolate cupcakes - no need for cutting and distributing, plates, etc, just a stack of napkins. My other sister-in-law’s mother got a large piece of styrofoam and then shaped and iced it to look like a really expensive cake! everyone thought it was a great idea!
You could also put on the invitations that instead of presents could people make cash donations. It takes the pressure off people wondering what to get you too - they really won’t mind.
Or if you’ve got someone with a BBQ who’ll offer to cook you can never go wrong with kebabs (once again don’t need plates, just napkins and somewhere to put the sticks). You can buy them in bulk already made up and marinated for 80c-$1.20 a stick and whatevers leftover you can freeze. Sausage sandwiches, steak sandwiches. that’s the sort of food you can keep churning out and will fill people up pretty quickly - and the kids love it.
Hope this’s given you some ideas - try not to stress and remember the day is all about you… not how expensive the table setting looks!
